The Sports Times Network (STN) has been told today about a leading candidate, Tony Barbee, being linked to the Auburn men's basketball vacancy. Chuck Gallina, Auburn's men's basketball Media Relations Director, told STN that "We (Auburn) have no information regarding him (Tony Barbee.) It is incorrect that there is a press conference scheduled for late Thursday." The Associate Athletics Director and Media Relations at UTEP, Jeff Darby, also informed STN today that "We are busy, getting ready for a NCAA tournament game. He (Barbee) isn't going to talk to you about the Auburn job, if you want to talk to him. To be honest with you, I think it's hard to believe that questions about a coaching vacancy will be left off the table."
